Whitney Mulder Introduction!

  • Hello, I am from Logan, KS, a small community of about 600. My mother is a Nurse and my father is a Farmer/Rancher. Horses have always been a big part of my life and I’ve always been interested in healthcare. Throughout high school I worked as both a CNA and an EMT. I am now a senior nursing student at Fort Hays State University where I am involved in several organizations and compete on the FHSU Rodeo Team. My highest interest in the healthcare field right now is OB. This is why I have chosen the main focus of this internship to be in OB. After gaining experience as an RN I would like to go back and get my Doctorate of Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I would love to return to a rural community to promote new practices and technologies to their already existing Obstetrics unit or help them to establish one of their own. I believe this internship will help validate my interest in a rural community hospital and the focus of Obstetrics and display my passion to help further develop and promote rural hospitals. I am very excited to see where this opportunity takes me!
