What I’ve Been Up To

Wow! What a crazy few weeks it has been. I am enjoying my internship so far. I like getting to learn about new food sheds and meeting new producers along the way. Seeing as I am working three jobs and going to school this summer, I have had a pretty busy schedule, but it has still been fun doing everything. I have mostly been researching about different food sheds in different towns and trying to find new ones to add to our list. I have reached out to a lot of different farms and have just been waiting on them to respond when they have the time because we all know how busy running a farm can be. In the upcoming weeks, I plan to visit some of these producers and get to meet them face to face. I am excited to go new places and learn about the producers in the local, small towns. I think my biggest challenge so far has been trying to get people to respond to me because this particular internship relies a lot on communication, but it has been helpful for me to learn how to navigate around these situations and do things a different way or on my own. I know I will be able to use these skills in the future to help me to better communicate with people. I will also know how important it is to get back to someone in a timely matter so they can get what they need to get done. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far!

Princess Farms is one of the farms I am currently researching.
This farm is pretty neat because they specialize in wagyu meat.
