Hi, everyone!

Wow, this internship has been amazing! At first, I was a little nervous to start this internship, but now I am having such a great time that I want this summer to slow down! I started off working at the school cafeteria, helping with the lunch program. Then I worked at the Swisher County Head Start, Daycare, and this week I am working with the City of Tulia. I don’t think that I could pick a favorite place even if I wanted to. Some of the jobs are not as glamorous as others but with all of these experiences, there is nothing to complain about. From typing financial reports, to answering phone calls at the City, to assisting with Water Day at the Daycare, to organizing a library at Head Start, I have had so many amazing opportunities! I didn’t think that having a summer job could be this fun! I also did not realize how important all of these places are to our community. I realized that these businesses and workers are so essential that I don’t know what would happen to our community if we didn’t have them constantly working to make things run smoothly, and this is only my third week of work! I can’t imagine what else I will learn about our community that I had never known. I know that I still have many more places to work, but if this summer continues the way that it has started off, I know that it will be great!
