My name is Jessi Stark and I am from a small rural community, Kress, which is located in the Texas panhandle.I grew up on the farm where my dad plants corn, wheat, cotton, and oats.We also have cattle and I have my very own little herd. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of growing up on a farm and being involved in the family business.
When I went to college, I knew I wanted to stay involved in campus activities and humanitarian outreach. I joined a sorority, Delta Zeta, where I was involved in philanthropic projects inside the community, such as, the Ronald McDonald House, Work-A-Thon, Shack-A-Thon, and many more. I also took on some leadership roles such as the alumni relations chair and courtesy chair. I am now an active alumna.
I attended West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas where I pursued a degree in Interdisciplinary Sciences.I am currently employed in my hometown as a fourth, fifth, and sixth grade math teacher.I just completed my first semester of teaching and education is definitely the right career for me.I enjoyed interacting with the students and watching them grow throughout the year. The most rewarding experience is the relationship I have developed with my students. It is a delight watching them learn.
I continue to be involved with the Swisher County 4-H program. I have judged fashion show, food show, educational presentations, and food challenge. It is a rewarding experience being on the other side of the judge’s table.I have also assisted with the Swisher County Picnic and look forward to helping with it again this year.
