Internship at Red Willow Farm

Hello, my name is Jennifer Kaasa. I will be a freshman this coming school year. I was born and raised at Taos Pueblo, New Mexico. This will be my first internship/job, my internship is held at the Red Willow Farm in Taos NM. some things i have been doing at the farm is harvesting some produce we grow on the farm, while also learning about the food i the process. Along with harvesting the produce i learned how to wash it off and remove excess water so produce stays fresh for market day. Afterwards i usually bag and weigh the produce to the required weight for the mixture bags they will be put into. Some things i have also done so far on the farm is learning a little on how to work the market on the days we do have market. Which would be helping vendors when they need help with anything, taking orders, handling the cash, and because of everything going on with the time we are in right now some people like their produce brought out to their vehicle so i will walk it out and grab money and take change. I love the internship that i’m doing because its giving back to my community but not just giving back but just connecting more, i cant wait to see the knowledge i gain from this and opportunities that will also come from this. Sincerely, Jennifer K
