My name is Chloe Barham, and I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. I started attending Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas in 2019 and graduated in
2022. I am now attending West Texas A&M University seeking a master’s degree in history.
Besides school, I have always enjoyed art and even started as an art major when I was at Wayland. My love for art extends to entertainment interests, making my comic book collection expansive—which my wallet doesn’t always love, but I do. My guilty pleasure is religiously watching HGTV with my family, whom I love dearly!
This summer, I will be working as a Food Writer Intern for Ogallala Commons. I’ll be interviewing local food producers and crafters in the Red River Headwaters and
Canadian River regions about their businesses. This material will be compiled in producer profiles and blog posts for the My Foodshed website and social media posts for the Ogallala Commons social media pages. I’m excited to learn more about local food systems and to share this
information!
My goals for this internship include writing a new blog post each week by September 1st, which I will create a monthly calendar to achieve, and which constitutes my leadership goal. My professional goal is to contact at least one food producer/crafter every workday, and my communication goal is to respond in one business day to all communications. This is an opportunity that I am grateful for and hope to create an impact in my community with!
