My name is Alexis Sopha. I was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. I am currently a student at West Texas A&M studying electrical engineering.
During the pandemic, I was fortunate to graduate Amarillo College with my associates in engineering and mathematics. Where I was both a student and peer math tutor at Amarillo College. I love teaching mathematical concepts to students. I find satisfaction seeing the spark on a student’s face when they understand the material I taught gives me a feeling that I have achieved some.
I am most passionate about self-development and self-improvement in my personal life. I enjoy looking for new challenges, trying new hobbies or recipes. While I am not studying or working, you will find me hiking in Palo Duro Canyon, water coloring, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
After I graduate from West Texas A&M, I aspire to become an electrical engineer. I would enjoy making day-to-day life easier whether it would be to make safety response systems, making an iPhone or computer run faster or maintaining traffic signals. I would like to use this platform to make positive impacts on others.
Being in a internship will allow myself to gain valuable work experience, explore different career paths, define and refine my skills, network with professionals in the field, gain confidence and easily transition into a career.
“May you approach this season with gratitude and a deeply rooted hope that everyday will teach you something that is an integral part of your growth.”-MHN
