Hello, my name is Zoe Alberti, and I am from the small-town Springfield in the very southeast corner of Colorado. I am 17 years old now going to school at the Springfield Jr/Sr High School as a Junior and will be a Senior this coming fall. Here I have played and learned to love many sports including: volleyball, basketball, track, cross-, swimming, and cheer. I guess you could say sports runs big in my family! I have grown up always being so unsure about what I wanted to become later in life. I then discovered several members of my family have gone into the medical field. They have helped change and save so many people’s lives I knew I wanted to be able to do the same for others. This last year as I’ve talked to my aunt about the medical field I made the choice to discover more about radiology and see if that was the career pathway I wanted to go down. During my spring semester I took a Career Choices Class where I did several interviews and job shadows with people at the Springfield Southeast Colorado Hospital to learn as much as I could about radiology, as well as presenting my entire journey learning about the career of my choice. I have also taken my public speaking about radiology a little further by using it as the topic of my FCCLA project. I feel like this summer internship would give me the best head start with pursuing my goal to become a radiologist.
