My name is Amelia Mort and I am 16 years old in the 11th grade. My only sport is cheerleading where I am cheer captain. I first started taking leadership roles 4 years ago as I have been cheer captain since 8th grade. When I was 3 years old I was adopted by my cousin. I now have 1 little sister and 2 little brothers. I grew an interest in Ogallala commons because I never like to turn away new opportunities. After high school I plan on going into the medical field although I’m not sure where yet. My internship job is at the hospital in the nursing side. I believe that this internship will guide me and allow me to figure out exactly what I want to do for my future. As for college, I want to go to LCU in Lubbock Texas. I am very passionate about the work I do and any task I am handed from someone, I want to finish how I would want it to be finished for me. I work very well with other people and prefer to be around anyone rather then by myself. My hobbies include painting, singing, dancing, learning, and teaching. When I paint, I love to paint the outdoors. Which is why Ogallala commons is very important as it teaches you to become connected with your land. I am a trusted caring person who will do anything for someone in need. I am one who tries to express how important it is to have good mental, physical, and emotional health. Being connected with the outdoors is a big part. I think when you are connected outside, you find peace.
