Bio: Jazmin Gonzalez

Hi! I’m Jazmin Gonzalez and I’m an upcoming senior at Wheeler High School. I am currently involved in activities such as color guard, UIL, and being a basketball manager as well as working at the local nursing home. I have a family of six where I’m the only girl and have three brothers. I have lived in the small town of Wheeler for my entire life and am excited to finally explore and experience living in a bigger city once I graduate.

I’m enthusiastic to be given the opportunity to help and give back to others as it’s my passion in life. This is my first time as an intern with Ogallala Commons and I’m super excited for what’s to come. Throughout my time as an intern, I’m very passionate about learning what it takes to be in the medical field and all the hardships endured being a nurse, CNA, EMS, etc.

In my internship, I will be visiting Parkview Hospital, High Plains Chiropractic, and Wheeler Nursing Home and Rehab to further my education in the medical field. When I graduate in 2024, I plan to study Nuclear Medicine and pursue a career. My goal as an intern is to strengthen my communication skills and learn to speak up as well as strengthen my leadership skills. I hope by doing this internship to prepare myself for college and my future with the independence I will face as I’ll be on my own. I also hope to understand exactly how healthcare in a small rural area works and how they strive to maintain success.
