Hi, my name is Andres Mendoza (male). I was born on December 28, 2004, and I was brought up in a family of six including me, two older brothers, and one younger sister. My oldest brother is a civil engineer who works in Dallas. As for my other brother, he works in Lubbock building conduits. And my sister is still in school and will be an incoming junior.
I was born in Lubbock but I’ve lived my whole life in Floydada. I just recently graduated from Floydada Collegiate High School and I hope to pursue a business degree at South Plains College. I hope to one day become a business owner or become an entrepreneur.
While at Floydada I was involved with sports such as football, baseball, and track. I like to think even from a young age up to now sports have taught me a lot growing up and it has truly made me the young man I am today. I was also selected to be in a football All-Star game. As for academics, I was involved with multiple dual credit courses from the start of my sophomore year up to my senior year. I ended up graduating with 29 hours of college credit.
Some of the things I like to do in my free time are hanging out with friends, playing pickleball, playing video games, and reading books. Through this internship, I plan to gain experience that will last a lifetime. I also plan on setting two SMART goals that include self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills. And one stretch goal of knowing all my co-workers’ names.
