My name is Lauren Canale, affectionately known by my friends as “Lolee”. I’m originally from Lubbock, Texas, on the Llano Estacado which explains the crazy amount of eagerness I have to be a part of the Local Llano initiative.I am an alumna of Christ the King Cathedral High School, where I graduated with the Distinguished Achievement Program in 2012. Fun fact, there were only TWELVE seniors in my graduating class. That’s right, even my smallest course at Texas Tech University was at least twice the size of my senior class. I am currently a senior studying advertising through the College of Media and Communications at Texas Tech University.
It’s fall in Raiderland so if I’m not cheering on my team in the Jones, you can find me on a tennis court practicing my serve or getting in an evening jog across Texas Tech campus. After spending so many years in Lubbock, Texas, you can imagine my impatience to travel. I someday hope to be working in-house for a brand I am really passionate about, an advertising agency or coordinating a political campaign somewhere on the east coast— somewhere with good seafood and even better sweet tea.
I would love to work in a fast-paced and challenging career. After graduation, my main focus will be international advertising for at least a few years. I have a goal to visit all fifty states at least once, at least five continents and as many countries as possible before I retire. I would appreciate a well-rounded internship experience, assisting in a little bit of everything from photography and design to content and strategy. My portfolio is looking a bit light as is, so adding onto my visible collection of work experience has me very excited.
