By Rocelyn Miller

Hello! My name is Rocelyn Miller. This is my second year interning with the Dodge City/ Ford County Development Corporation. I am so excited to be back!

A little bit about me…. I was born and raised in Dodge City, Kansas. I really enjoy the diversity and opportunities that my community brings. I have two brothers. I am the only girl and the middle child. I also have two dogs. In high school, I was very involved. I was a part of Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Drill Team, Volleyball, and Softball. Last Summer, I was an intern for the Development Corporation in Dodge City and I had so much fun. It was a good way for me to get out of my comfort zone and gain better communication skills. I also got to meet so many important people inside and outside of our community. I even got to meet the governor.

A lot has changed since my internship last year. I just finished my first year of college at Washburn University. I am majoring in Exercise and Rehabilitation Science. I love my major, it is so much fun! I really enjoyed meeting new people and I am looking forward to going back for my second year. Once I get my Bachelor’s Degree, I am wanting to go to Physician Assistant School. I am not sure where I want to attend for PA School, but I have a little bit of time to think about it. Once becoming a PA, I would like to work in a Pediatric Unit of a Hospital. I love working with kids and I would love to someday have a major impact on the lives of many children.

Some things that I enjoy are reading, spending time with friends and family, watching tv shows, traveling, shopping, and playing with my dogs. My favorite author right now is Colleen Hoover. If you are just getting into reading, I highly recommend her books! I’m looking forward to keeping you guys updated on my internship this year
