Life on the farm continues to teach and inspire. Some examples of these are watching the piglets grow. Also moving toward making this farm even better. So too, in seeing how I continue to grow and gain strength in myself. I recently took part in the mud run held by the Ponca Wellness Center. I got 5th and was completely covered in mod by the time I was done. I also helped with the concession booth at Ponca Powwow over the Labor Day weekend. I had so much fun at both. At the same time life on the farm, reminds one to be humble. Due to some issues in the soil we may be forced to plow up the entire garden. Also other areas of the farm. We had only within the last couple of months replanted some squash. They have been doing very well. Some are flowering and others are already producing fruit. It will be a shame if they would not be able to continue to produce. That said I do believe there is a higher reason for anything and everything that happens. I am hearing that more animals may be brought down and the garden while bigger will also be its own fenced off space. The promise of more animals coming down will only serve to help me as I continue this internship. I keep asking my supervisor if the bigger horses will be coming too. I have been teased all this time with the minis in the back and have not had a chance to ride. Pouting aside, though this current internship is only a few more weeks, I know I will continue to learn and grow. The next things I will be helping with is catching the roosters and putting them in a separate house. Ultimately they will be butchered and will feed people just as the Black Sow will as well. She herself has already been taken. She will feed many.
