Hello all! My name is Bailey Adams and I am currently a senior at Tarleton State University located in Stephenville, Texas. While attending Tarleton State University, I am a member of the Tarleton Sports Medicine Association and plan on getting my degree to become an Athletic Trainer. In December of 2014 I will be taking my Texas licensure for athletic training. Then in May of 2015 I will graduate from Tarleton State University. Below is one of my favorite picture’s taken of the Tarleton Field House before a football game. The helmet represents a player who passed away during two-a-days, and each player as well as the staff touches the helmet before entering the field.
I was born and raised in Tulia, Texas where I was involved in a variety of activities both in and out of school. These activities included: cheerleading, One Act Play, National Honors Society, 4-H, basketball, volleyball, track, and tennis.
This summer instead of staying in Stephenville to take classes and work, I decided that I would come back to my hometown and spend time with my family as well as work. After speaking with Calley at the Extension Office in Tulia, I decided that this internship would be an amazing experience for me as well as my career in athletic training. My goal as an athletic trainer is to come back to a small town such as Tulia and be the first full time athletic trainer. This is important to me because I have experienced being in athletics without a full time athletic trainer first hand. Below is my 2013-2014 Sports Medicine picture. Each year the Sports Medicine Staff takes a picture for the website and my goal is to have each picture hanging up in my own office.
One of my goals for this summer is to gain knowledge about the community of Tulia. Although I know some things about Tulia, I feel like there are a variety of things I do not have knowledge of. I also want to see how my future career of being a full time athletic trainer would benefit the community of Tulia.
