My name is Josie Herman, and I am a 17 year old from Holyoke, a small town in northeast Colorado. I am one of the two first interns that Phillips County has had, and I am very excited to be one of the firsts. Due to the variety of potential jobs, I was very interested in this internship. Speaking with the economic development coordinator, Trisha Herman, we decided on an internship that would get me close to the field that I am interested in. I will be helping with the development of a new dental office, working with my local hospitals Operations Director to plan, and organize the new equipment and the organization of the new office. So far, I have attended the orientation for the interns in Texas, and also new employee orientation at the hospital. In orientation, I learned how to have a professional relationship, and how to make the best impression on those around you. In my employee orientation, we went over policies, safety, and signed confidentiality agreements. I have taken all of my safety classes required, gotten my I.D. badge, and am ready to begin. I also met my supervisor Heather Cloward, hospital operation director, and am ready to work with her. I am excited to see what I learn, and look forward to a summer full of new experiences.
