Without new experiences, something inside of us sleeps. The sleeper must be awaken.

Hi y’all. My name is Maci. I grew up in North Central Kansas and had the most blessed childhood anyone could dream of. My family is very close to one another and we find the greatest value in life in being able to live in rural Kansas. I just started my second year of the MBA program at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas! This begins my 6th year of attending FHSU and I’m definitely a Tiger for life! In addition to taking full-time MBA courses and working part-time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Department of Management, I am also the Director of Communications and Virtual Relations for our local Society of Human Resource Management chapter on campus. A big part of the reason I enjoy school so much is because I am able to relate my class work back to my student organization in so many ways. I am beginning my first Rural & Remote internship with Agrilead located in Russell, Kansas. A brief overview of my internship is tackling a the communication problem and training the employees on the new solution that I will develop.

I am passionate about Human Resources and Entrepreneurship. These two industries fall on complete opposite ends of the business world and I enjoy my unique opportunity to approach Entrepreneurship a little more rigid than some and I like getting creative with Human Resources policies and procedures with effort to better meet the needs of those in organizations. I had the amazing opportunity to attend the National SHRM Convention in the fabulous Las Vegas this past June. Although very hot outside, this convention lit a fire in me that has further developed my passion for HR! I met experts in the industry that were more than happy to answer my questions and offer advice to me. I hope to one day be the mentor to others like myself.
