I am from Tulia, TX, and I have lived here all of my life. I am a senior at Nazareth ISD. I plan to attend South Plains College for about two years and then transfer to Texas Tech University. There, I plan to major in early childhood. In ten years, I hope to be settled in a rural community and have a steady job as an elementary teacher. Because my mother has taught second grade in Nazareth for 20 years, I have attended child care and school in Nazareth since I was little. I am passionate about tennis. I have worked hard practicing tennis my four years of high school, and it has finally paid off as I will compete at state May 12 and 13. I also placed second in UIL feature writing, which I was also very determined about. I have also prepared for feature writing all four years of my high school career. I have written a feature story every week during the UIL season all four years. I am very proud to say that my hard work has paid off my senior year of high school. My next goal in life is to start this next chapter in my life right. I hope to grow up and mature more before I begin college in the fall semester. I believe that this Ogallala Commons internship will allow me to do this. Last year, my internship consisted of writing a weekly newsletter for my community and researching the school’s history. My internship this year consists of interning a different place around the community each week. I hope to get experience in many different professions to help decide my future career.
