Stepping into the Community

My name is Kayla Liller. I was raised on a small family farm with three brothers and a sister. This experience has given me a good appreciation for the animals we raised and the produce we fought to grow in our high altitude area. Plus a good thankfulness for a sister too. The outdoors is my favorite spot to be. My hobbies are hiking, horseback riding, painting, and spending time with friends.

This summer I am so thrilled to be a part of the Ogallala Commons mission and to help with our town’s Famers Market. Although I have enjoyed living in the back woods over the years in Colorado, I haven’t been very involved in my community. Through my internship I now get the chance to have a personal hand in my community and to help it develop, which to me is quite exciting. This internship will help me to get a better understanding of how to be a great intern, how to help my culture, and how to run a market. All of these skills will be great to have in any work place, learning experiences ahead will be a journey.

Through this opportunity I hope to help my community by bringing a higher awareness of the need for water conservation as well as environmental preservation. I also hope to bring more musicians each week to our local Famers Market. I look forward to networking, making new relationships, and most importantly helping my community.
