For years, Ogallala Commons has worked to support local food systems in a variety of ways. We have hosted conferences on the topic, worked to create Community Internships based on local food production, provided education workshops and tools for gardeners. At each OC-sponsored event, we do our best to use locally produced foods for our guests. In 2011 we began the Local Llano Project. Local Llano is a blog about all things related to local food in the Llano Estacado region of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Currently, OC is working on applying the tools of Local Llano to build awareness and knowledge about foodsheds throughout the Great Plains.
