“Hello… it’s me.” Just kidding, we’ve never met!
My name is Jaime Pace.
I’m originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, but I recently moved from a small town in South Korea, to Lubbock, Texas! …What?
In Pennsylvania, I played soccer, assisted with “The Second Mile” mentoring program,
and earned my Bachelor’s degree in
Elementary education at Millersville University.
In South Korea, I taught English for two years at the Kindergarten and Elementary levels. In my first year there, I made a Texan friend, Kyle. We accidentally fell in love sometime in the midst of hiking to dazzling waterfalls on Jeju Island and eating octopus in the electrifying streets of Tokyo, Japan.
Kyle asked me to marry him after I returned home from a month of backpacking through
Europe. (Spoiler: I said “Yes!”)
Most recently, we spent a month
feeding elephants (and ourselves!) in Thailand,
and trekking through rice paddies in Vietnam together.
We came back to America October 1st, got married October 10th, and moved to Lubbock October 12th in preparation for Kyle’s first day of work at Texas Tech, October 15th! Phew!
I’m passionate about exploring
the world, learning opportunities,
finding the humor in every situation,
& making a positive impact in peoples’ lives.

I enjoy reading, writing, painting, blogging, and obsessing over watching Game of Thrones. We adopted two dogs while in South Korea, and they have taught me so much about love.
My long-term career goals are a little vague at this point; I want to be part of a team of people who share my desire to inspire others
and constantly learn new things.
I also plan to write a novel someday.
I’m delighted to have this internship with
Ogallala Commons because it allows me to
develop new skills, and to meet like-minded
people who care deeply for our community.
