Hello, I am Tristyn McDaniel. I am from Texico, New Mexico. I am going to be a senior at Texico High School. I grew up on a farm/ranch on the outskirts of Texico. The most important things in my life are God, my family and my animals. I participate in rodeo, basketball and softball. My main interest is rodeo though. Rodeo is one of my passions and is part of me. My summers are usually very busy since I do so many different things and it keeps me on my toes. My long-term goal in life is to become a lawyer for agriculture. Today many people are trying to change agriculture and how things are done and it is hurting the many people who are a part of it. I want to be able to help my community and local community by changing the way people see agriculture and help promote the things our farmers/ranchers do. Growing up in a small agriculture town I have got to see and experience the good and bad that people get to see in this unique job. This internship can help me gain the business experience, organizational skills and communication skills I need to be successful in the future. I am also not completely sure on what college I would like to attend yet, so hopefully this internship can help me to get scholarships as well. I am very excited to start this journey and learn new things as I go. My internship will be with the Clovis Chamber of Commerce, where I will help plan events and do various things around the office.
