Marcus Lee Preuninger

My name is Marcus Lee Preuninger; I go to West Texas A&M University and am majoring in Agriculture Education. I am originally from Burleson, Texas just south of Fort Worth. My background is from agriculture leadership to agriculture mechanics, animal and plant science. I am passionate about helping others and encouraging the youth “”It is not important to be famous, but making people feel famous…now that’s important.” (Frazier). When I first came to West Texas A&M University I was a Mechanical Engineering major. After a semester of engineering classes, I was not content with what I was doing. Everyone that was close to me knew I was not enjoying what is was doing. After my first semester, my mother came up to me and asked me what I wanted to do with my life. I said something about engineering and she called my bluff. My mother asked her question again. I said I wanted to influence people, she asked who influenced my life the most, and I said my Ag teachers, she told me I had my answer on what I needed to do with my life. My main interest and hobbies include agriculture, education, and helping others. I have trained teams for Happy FFA program; teach kindergarteners and first graders at First Baptist Church of Happy. My long term goals are to be an Agri-Science teacher or county agent, this internship will help me to reach this goal because I will have the opportunity to work in an extension office and see what they do.
