Laynee Unterkircher

Hi, my name is Laynee Unterkircher and this is my second summer doing the Ogallala Commons Internship. I am the daughter of Robert and Dana Unterkircher and I’m from Tulia, Tx. I will be going into my senior year of high school next year.

During high school, I have been involved in numerous activities which include the Student Council, Interactive Club, and athletics to name a few of my main activities. I have worked hard in my classes and have maintained the number one academic standing for my class since 6th grade.

Along with my school activities, I have also participated in 4-H since the third grade. I’m also very passionate about helping others. I love to help everybody. After all, I know I need to give back to the world because I receive so much from other people. My main interest and hobby is 4-H. In 4-H, I participate in many activities which are livestock judging, livestock skillathon, fashion show, shooting sports, food challenge, educational presentation, and my favorite activity which is my lamb project.

Now that you know a little about me I’m going to tell you about my internship. During the first week of my internship, I’ve been helping at my local Extension Office and I’ve been helping plan the 4-H summer workshop.

Finally, I’m going to tell you about my goals for this summer. My communication goal is to be able to easily communicate this summer with all the people I work with. My leadership goal is to be able to step up in the place I’m working at to help lead with whatever I need to. Finally, my professional network is to meet as many new people as possible and make connections with them. I can’t wait to see what the rest of my internship is like.
