Jacey Wideman

I am a current senior at Fort Hays State University, where I will graduate in December of 2023. I am majoring in Business Administration in Management. Additionally, I am from Minneola, Kansas.

My internship this summer is through Main Street Dodge City. During the first week of my internship, I helped prepare for the Dodge City Main Street Festival. However, we unfortunately had to cancel the festival due to the weather. Not only do I have an internship here, but I am also working part-time at ParkerHaskins Insurance Inc. in the crop department.

During my free time, I enjoy spending time on the farm, being active outside, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. In the past, I have had many leadership roles in sports and university organizations. For instance, I was the community service coordinator for Fort Hays State University and was the volunteer coordinator for Your Voice Through Cancer, a non-profit organization out of Hays, Kansas.

My goal for leadership is to continue to gain valuable leadership experience through my internship to help me to continue to develop the leadership skills I already have as I have completed my Leadership Studies Certificate through Fort Hays State University and have been in many leadership positions.

My goal for communication is to grow more comfortable speaking to business owners and entrepreneurs. I plan to achieve this goal by going outside of my comfort zone and speaking with business owners. Lastly, my goal for the professional network is to expand my professional network by meeting with business owners within the area during meetings that my organization attends. I am excited to gain valuable knowledge and experience through this internship!
