Alejandro L. Guerra
I’m 22 years old and currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. Originally born in Austin, TX, I was raised in Seguin, TX since 1st grade. Ever since I was little, I loved to express myself artistically whether it be by drawing, playing an instrument, or just messing around with legos. The two things I am extremely passionate about are music and architecture. My goal is to design buildings that can change the world in a positive way. Today society is ridden with buildings that lack material conservation and are put together with little consideration for sustainability. Societies are also impacted greatly by music. I believe the more I perfect my skills in designing and music production, as well as making connections throughout my community, I can be an important asset to changes in society.
As humans, we only have a short amount of time on this earth and I believe it shouldn’t be spent working 8-5 in a cubicle for the rest of your life. Instead of leaving money behind when I pass away, I want to leave behind projects and ideas that will inspire next generations to make even better things. The only way to succeed at something is to fail, learn from the mistakes, and do it again. I plan on using this internship opportunity to create connections within the community, learn new skills, and create a better space for our local garden. By the end of this internship, I will have put together a visual representation of improvements that should be made to our community garden. I plan on using the presentation to inspire my community to help the growth of the garden, and more importantly the growth of communal involvement.
