Hello! My name is Kylie Purkeypile, and I will be a freshman in college this fall. I graduated from Holyoke High School in a small town known as Holyoke, Colorado. I will be attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney where I will be majoring in biology with an emphasis in health sciences and receiving a minor in chemistry. With that, I am currently on the pre-physician assistant track where I hope to specialize in obstetrics/gynecology and infertility. My internship is through our local hospital, Melissa Memorial. I will be interning in the pharmacy, getting a better understanding of things like health insurance and the different types of pharmaceuticals commonly used in health care today.
During my time in high school I participated in MANY activities that have taught me important skills which will allow me to thrive with my internship. I was an active participant in FBLA and a Colorado FBLA state officer for two years. I also took part in sports such as track, volleyball, basketball, cheer leading, and golf. I also did band and select choir.
In my free time, I typically spend my time working at our world renowned popular golf course Ballyneal. Ballyneal is a secluded golf course built on sand in the sand hills! People from all over the nation travel here to golf and stay. Some of my hobbies include playing guitar, working out, and watching Netflix! Through my internship, I am excited to build upon all of my skills developed through extracurricular activities and work. Learning about insurance, pharmaceuticals, communication processes with the pharmacist via the customer via the Physician, and any other type of complication or additional knowledge. I will hopefully come out with experience, growth, and additional connections!
