My name is Cheyenne Schomp. I am twenty years old, and I am from Borger Texas, but am currently in nursing school in Canyon Texas at West Texas A&M University. I graduated from Borger High School in May of 2012 and went straight to college. I am extremely close to my family, my mom is the Math Department Head at Borger Middle School, my dad is the Maintenance Supervisor for Phillips 66 in Borger, and I have one younger sister. I am extremely passionate about nursing. I feel that the true measure of success is not materialistic, but based on how you’ve used your own blessings to help bless and inspire others life’s. Nursing is not just an occupation, it is something that requires every skill you’ve ever learned, from communication to application and critical thinking. Nursing will push you up and tear you down all at the same time, it will test you mentally, physically, and emotionally. However all of it is worth it to be a positive change in just one families life. To have an education is a true blessing and is something that can never be taken away from a person, and I plan to use my education too help change others life’s. My long term career goal is to become a Nurse Practioner and open a clinic. This internship is helping to give me valuable learning experiences that I would otherwise not have. I am honored to have been given this opportunity and am excited to learn.
