First Experiences

My first thoughts were, “How can anyone remember all of this information?” Working at a book and retail store was very overwhelming at times because of the sheer volume of information that is contained in the entire job is enormous. I had to know how to count change back to the customers, and how to do inventory. I also had to learn how to operate the gigantic computer program that actually worked almost without hitch. I enjoyed checking the customers out and helping someone come in and find something they didn’t even know they were looking for. Lunch was a somewhat unhurried affair, and I loved getting to know regular customers and the staff of the neighboring stores. So far, I really like working in a retail store.
