Hello everyone I am about to summarize the major projects in my internship and share my noteworthy experiences . So one of the main priorities at the Pueblo of Pojoaque Agriculture Program was to construct two hoop houses that they plan to use in the next few weeks for root vegetables and saplings. Other than that we have been trying to irrigate the blue corn field that we just about lost because we were getting robbed for our water by the person who’s job it is to make sure that doesn’t happen. Although the corn didn’t completely die it still makes me cringe thinking about the loss. I would have to say that one noteworthy experience that I experienced so far was watching people fight and cry about water that they have no rights to. Its kind of funny to be honest and it makes my day go by faster but its also made me realize that water is way more important than oil or gold will ever be, and I never really noticed that until a few days a go. Those are the main things we have been focusing on when were not picking onions or irrigating the tomatoes, basil , chili ,cucumbers and every once in a while when we have a little extra water we water the fruit trees. I have to say I’ve had a lot of fun working here its more like camping than working plus the people I work with are really smart I can say I have learned a lot since I started at the Agriculture Program.
