My name is Emily Heitschmidt. My parents are Roy and Diane Heitschmidt. I have three brothers, Eric, Ryan, and Brett. I am seventeen years old and I live in Nazareth, Texas. I moved here from Olton, Texas in 2006. I am currently a sophomore at Nazareth High School. I am actively involved in the Holy Family Youth Group, FFA, 4-H, and National Honor Society. I enjoy judging dairy cattle and livestock, playing basketball, raising commercial steers, and participating in writing and speaking competitions. My hobbies include playing the piano and the guitar, traveling, and raising livestock. My family is extremely involved in agriculture, with the beef industry in particular. My father is the manager of the Cattlemen’s Feedlot in Olton, and my mother runs our family cattle business. Coming from a family that is deeply rooted in agriculture, I have developed a passion for the agriculture industry. I plan on going to college and majoring in Ag Communications, with a goal of being a voice for agriculture. As somebody who would like to pursue a career in public relations, I hope this internship can help me increase my writing, speaking, and general communication skills, along with making the Nazareth community a better place in general.
