Continuing the Journey with Native Strong

It has been more than a year since I first came to the Notah Begay III Foundation (NB3F).  I can tell you that my life has changed greatly since being here.  The people and missions of the programs and overall foundation have impacted my life in a gran positive manner.  I am grateful to have had the experiences I have had thus far and look forward to the experiences yet to come.

A great experience that I enjoy is frequently telling people about NB3F and it’s newly incorporated program Native Strong.  Although Native Strong has been recently launched as a national initiative it already has greatly impacted the lives of thousands of Native American children across the United States.  When people who do not know about what NB3F and Native Strong are doing they are amazed.

A week ago I had the chance to travel to Chicago, Illinois to participate in the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment Conference for Native Strong.  Participating in the conference was an awesome experience.  My knowledge about evaluations and assessments was minimal before attending the conference, and that’s not the case now.  That is what I love about participating in Ogallala Commons and being able to work with NB3F is that I get to have these awesome learning experiences that I otherwise might not have been able to have.

In the coming months I look forward to sharing more about this continued journey with NB3F’s Native Strong program.
