My name is Christen Damron and I have lived in the small town of Tulia all of my life. Both sides of my family have lived and farmed in Tulia for over one hundred years, so you could say my roots run deep. I am a senior at Nazareth High School where I am involved in tennis, cheer leading, yearbook, four club, and national honor society. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, music, and most of all going to the lake! One of my favorite things to do is to play tennis. Even though it is hard work, each year I try to surpass the goals that I set for myself. I plan to attend nursing school at Texas Tech University, but nothing is set in stone just yet. I am interested in this career because I love the idea that I would have the chance to help and possibly change someone’s life for the better. I want do this internship because I saw all of the beneficial things that my sister had learned from it two years ago when she interned. I know this is a great opportunity for me to learn many different skills. I am looking forward to getting to see what all my community has to offer and having the opportunity to get to know the people of Tulia better. I am so excited to start this internship with Ogallala Commons because I know it will help me grow and push me outside of my comfort zone.
