This summer I will be working in my home town, Tulia, at several different businesses according to my interests for my future. I will be learning about the many job opportunities within my community and all that Swisher County has to offer. By doing this I will gain skills and knowledge about the career that I want to pursue in my future. I will also be gaining work experience and knowledge about the many different careers in my community. I am interested in the medical field, so I will be interning at the local hospital, nursing home, and the pharmacy. I am eager to learn and observe all of the different possible careers that I could pursue in this field. I will also be interning at the library, Swisher Electric, and the Meals on Wheels program later in the summer. Even though I have so much to learn this summer, I have already learned so much in just one week! Starting on June 6th, I went to the Ogallala Commons Orientation with the rest of the interns to learn all about how this foundation started and what is represents. I also learned how to work as a professional, Commonwealth, and more about myself. I made so many friends and grew even closer to my fellow interns. On June 6th through 9th, I worked at the Summer Lunch Program at the Ezra Jones Cafeteria where I helped serve food to underprivileged kids and students attending summer school. I also helped file tickets at the Justice of the Peace office on June 7th. This next week, I will start my journey at the hospital, and I could not be more excited!
