Blog Two (Lincoln Honaker)

By: Lincoln Honaker

The past two weeks working for the city of Borger have been great. The best part about my job is I get to do something new almost every day which keeps me very busy and interested in what I’m doing. On a regular day, I might clean windows, set up chairs and tables in the dome, and make business calls to local food trucks or small businesses. One day I even got to go out to the Phillips golf course and take pictures for our social media manager at city hall. Nicole is a great person to work for, she always helps me out when I need it and she has helped me to meet many of the important people in our community that I had hoped to meet.

Before I started working here I had set 3 goals for myself that I hope to complete by the end of my time working for the city. My first goal for communication is to get better at talking to people. I plan to do this by creating a good harvest ceremony speech and conversing with people at city hall. My goal for leadership is to create a good relationship with the people that work for the city and show I can be a good leader by going above and beyond on any task I get. My professional goal is to meet local business owners in Borger. To do this I will go with Nicole to any business meetings she has since she works with many downtown merchants. By the end of my internship, I hope to have all three goals completed.
