Hello my fellow partners! I hope all of you are having a great summer. I want to share with you some of the many wonderful commonwealth assets in and near our Tulia community.

One of the asset is the soil and mineral cycle. In my community we have a Family Owned business called Soil menders. Soil menders has over twenty-five years of experience that provides soil–conditioning products.  We also have Seed Resources that investigate and develop new varieties of seed for increased crop production.  Another example of an asset is renewable energy. In my community Tulia is starting leases to set up windmill generators and transmission lines for wind energy programs.

One key to growth in our community is leisure and recreation which includes the YMCA, the city pool, McKenzie running trail and the Poise Studio which holds Zumba and teen dance classes. Do to the recent amount of rain the McKenzie running trail has formed a creek which is home to a new diverse ecosystem of water wildlife. There’s also Buffalo Lake National Wildlife Refuge in a town near Tulia which includes 175 acres of national lands and water systems set aside for wildlife such as the Black-tailed Prairie Dog or Neotropical migrant birds.

Tulia has a hospital, clinic and nursing home. Every year the clinic offers 10 dollar athletic physicals to all students. The hospital offers emergency services and healthcare. The nursing home has special programs to the elderly and the community including singers and a Sunday Church Service.
