My name is Enrique Gutierrez and I am going into my junior year of high school at Vilas High school. I was born in a mountain town called Alamosa Colorado, and was raised there until I was ten years old. When I was ten years old, my family moved to Vilas, Colorado. In Vilas not there isn’t many things to do within the town itself, sending me into the world of school organizations. I am involved in my schools 4-H club, Citizenship and Leadership Council (CLC), Friends of Rachel, and anti-bullying clubs. I was nominated as president for both the CLC club, and the 4-H club.
As of right now I am trying to decide what I would like to do in the future, I really enjoy working with math and online software. I would love to go into accounting, or be a software engineer of some sort.
Being that our community is so small everyone is a big sports player. I am involved in football, basketball, track and field, and also played a year of baseball with the Springfield longhorns. My school is combined with two others to make up the basketball and track and field teams, while I also play football for the Springfield longhorns every year.
I love being around new people and love learning and getting to meet people from different backgrounds than mine. This past year I was able to go to the Colorado Philanthropy Day of the Year, and was able to meet people from the Daniels fund scholarship.
