Greetings and salutations,
my name is Deanna EagleFeather and I am an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. I live on the reservation with my three beautiful sons and my husband. I am a student and stay at home mother. My hobbies are bird watching and foraging plants in the prairie, on my homeland. My sons and I like taking long drives in the country of South Dakota, there are some very beautiful places in South Dakota. I enjoy working with children and talking with elders in my community, I feel when we open ourselves to different people around us we can learn a great deal about ourselves. Everything I have learned about foraging for food and medicine; I give that knowledge back to the youth and anyone else who needs the knowledge. I assist in foraging walks with community members and manage a garden at the middle school in Mission, SD. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity in the internship at REDCO, because I will be working with an incredible group of people who also believe in the importance of healthy eating and lifestyle. A huge thank you to Ogallala Commons for this opportunity. I am looking forward to the rest of this year working with a great crew!
Thanks,
Deanna
