Hi! I am Grace Hammer. I grew up on a cow-calf and row crop operation in Northwest Kansas (Sharon Springs), and have always had a passion for agriculture. Growing up, I was heavily invested in 4-H, breed associations, and livestock judging, while showing cattle and holding agriculture leadership roles on state and national levels.
In college, I was on the livestock judging team at Hutchinson Community College, Livestock and Meat Animal Evaluation, Center for Risk Management program, Agribusiness club, and Collegiate Cattlewomen. I graduated in 2017 from Kansas State University with a degree in Agribusiness.
My hobbies include going on road trips, repurposing projects for my house, and spending as much time as possible on the ranch with my dog and family.
I am passionate about agriculture, commodity markets, raising cattle with my family, and helping inform customers about a healthy and wholesome food product arrives on their plate. I am currently also working as a grain advisor, but I am excited to use this internship to help promote food products to customers. More and more, consumers want to know how their food arrives to their plate, and if it is raised sustainably and responsibly. I enjoy getting to help them connect the dots of food production, especially over social media.
I am looking forward to using this experience to help High Plains Food Co-op expand customer communication and help their business grow!
