Hi, my name is Jake Hinds, and I’m fourteen years old. I have lived in Campo, Colorado all my life. I am going into my freshman year of high school and I’m very excited to begin a new chapter in my life. My father is a part time rancher so I’ve been around livestock all my life. Some of my hobbies include, sports, hanging out with my friends, and playing instruments. I have been involved in, basketball, track, 4-H, Knowledge Bowl, and Fabulous Fridays. My favorite subjects in school are music and P.E. After I graduate high school I want to study music with the possibility of becoming a music teacher. I want to come back to Campo and help make it a better place not only for me, but for everyone. This year, my fellow interns and I are striving to make the town better step by step. This year we are focusing on the old beat up basketball and tennis courts. We will do things like fill cracks, repaint lines, get rid of the weeds, paint the bleachers, paint the street lights around the court. In following years we will be doing things like fixing the swimming pool and making a trail for the town elders to walk. I am very excited to begin my internship at OC and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me!
