My name is Alyssa Bullock, and I grew up in La Junta, Colorado with my parents, younger sister, and three pets. I attended La Junta High School where I was involved in Student Council, Science Fair, and National History Day. I graduated as valedictorian of my class and earned the Boettcher Scholarship, a full-ride scholarship to any university in Colorado.

After careful consideration, I chose to attend the University of Colorado Boulder for its location and the excellent opportunities it offers in terms of clubs, environment, and overall career placement.

I spent much of my freshman year joining all kinds of clubs to find out what I was interested in and what I wanted to do. I got involved in Student Government, finance clubs, a consulting group, and several honors/scholars groups. When my freshman year came to an end, I returned home to be nearer to family and to find summer work that would benefit my hometown community while allowing me to pick up valuable skills in the business context.

Although I am still figuring out what sort of job I want, I would love a career that combines the worlds of finance and technology; I believe those two fields are both prevalent and filled with opportunity in the future, especially as global economies shift to more socially-mindful goods and services, more efficient business models, and more environmentally-friendly practices.

I look forward to all that I will learn during this internship and how much I can help out my community.
