Hi,my name is Shalee Billings. I am 14 years old and will be a freshman at Campo High School in the fall. I’m involved in 4-H, Friends of Rachel Club, Wesleyan Youth, Student Council, and sports. I was born in Liberal, Kansas and moved to Campo when I was 5 years old. Campo is a little community and there isn’t much to do but the great thing about our community is we are all willing to help each other. My parents both grew up here and wanted to raise my brothers and I here too.
My family is very important to me and I love spending time with them. I really enjoy hanging out with my friends and having fun. I show sheep at the Baca County Fair each summer and enjoy working with my animals. My hobbies include photography, riding 4-wheelers, being outside, painting fingernails, and hunting.
I have been involved in entrepreneurship fairs and I’ve also been involved in leadership academies. These opportunities have helped me become a better leader. I’m super excited to see how Ogallala Commons helps with my leadership skills in the future.
My future plans are to go to cosmetology school and massage therapy school and hopefully start my own business someday. This internship will really help me with being more comfortable talking to people. I feel that the internship would help me develop the necessary skills that I need to begin my own business one day and be successful in my future career .
