Howdy! My name is Hattie Robb, and I am so excited to join the Ogallala Common’s team this year through interning with Local Llano! I am 20-years-old and am from Nazareth, Texas. I grew up in an agricultural family and was heavily involved in FFA during high school, where I competed in stock shows, horse judging and various speaking events. Currently, I am a senior at Texas Tech University studying journalism and agricultural communications. My love for the agriculture industry and the people involved in it is what drew me to interning at OC! As a journalism student, I am passionate about storytelling. I love meeting interesting people and helping them share their stories, whether it is through writing articles, taking photographs or creating videos. Through my time as a journalist, I have had the opportunity to meet so many individuals and gain insight to local events and issues. It has been one of my greatest blessings.
Outside of school and work, I enjoy hiking, traveling, journaling and hanging out with my dog, Josie. I am also a member of The Way College Ministry’s leadership team, where I lead weekly bible studies after church services. My long-term career goals consist of becoming a copy writer for an outdoor company such as Backcountry or Cabela’s, and I eventually wish to work for National Geographic. Through this internship, I will gain more experience and grow as a writer while also making the necessary connections to help yield my career. I am so excited to grow as an individual and sharpen my skillset!
