A Little About Me

By: Hannah Gideon

Why hello there!!! My name is Hannah Gideon and I’m a soon-to-be junior at Russell High School in Russell, Kansas. Unlike most people here, I was not born and raised in Russell. Instead, I grew up in Wichita, Kansas; the polar opposite of any rural community. In 2017, my family made a decision that has significantly impacted our lives; to move to Russell, Kansas… wait what’s that?!

Ever since that moment, I’ve been enjoying my stay in a place devoid of big city life. That is because I’ve been able to focus more on the Earth instead of the concrete on the ground. Furthermore, being closer to nature helps drive me to achieve my main goal in the future. I wish to help protect the Earth and aid in mother nature’s sustainability. This is why I aspire to be an Environmental Scientist when I get older.

As you may know, the best time to improve is now. So I figured, why not be in everything that I can to help better myself and everyone around me? For that reason, I am in many programs in my school such as FFA, JAG-K, NHS, Scholars Bowl, Science Olympiad, Football, Volleyball, and Softball. After all, Paul Bowles once said, “Every little thing makes a difference, whether you decide it yourself or whether it’s pure accident.”

Over the summer, I’m really anticipating learning more about the Earth and Agrilead Inc., the company I’m interning for. Thank you for reading and have a great day!!
