Cole Lewis Introduction

Hi, my name is Cole Lewis. I am 19 years old and have been a resident of Tulia, Texas since birth, where my parents, Clint and Sherella Lewis, raised me and my brother, Zane Lewis and my sister, Reina Lewis.  I have lived in Tulia all my life until I graduated high school in spring of 2015. I am currently at South Plains College pursuing a computer engineering degree and a sound technologies certificate. After South Plains College I intend on attending Texas Tech University the same school every person in my family has attended and finishing my undergrad and then get a graduate degree in electrical engineering.

Starting at a young age I was involved in agriculture. I grew up very active in 4-h activities like photography, food nutrition, and method demonstration but later focused more on horse shows and showing livestock animals. Agriculture has always been a big part of my life and while I am going into a different field I would love to give back what the ag community has given to me. My background in agriculture has really helped me over the years teaching me lifelong skills like leadership and teamwork.

Through this internship I would like to be able to aid my community in a way that will really have an impact. I would also like to give back to extension since through the 4-h program it has given so much to me. This internship will help me learn more about the community I grew up in and how it is run behind the scenes to help young kids succeed. I’m pumped for this summer and working with my supervisors and fellow interns.
